Frequently Asked Questions

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a form of talking therapy. It is a safe, non-judgemental, and confidential space for you to begin to explore issues and problems you may be facing or experiencing in your life.

What can I expect during my first counselling session?

During your first session I will ask you questions to get to know you better and understand what brings you to counselling. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the counselling process. We will go through a counselling agreement so you can better understand how the counselling process works.

How long does a counselling session last?

A counselling session lasts for 50 minutes. Sessions typically take place on the same day & time each week, usually at the same location.

How is the session delivered?

Sessions will be delivered in either Face to Face in Bexleyheath or Online in the comfort of your own home.

Can counselling ever be harmful?

Counselling can involve discussing difficult or painful issues, which can be a helpful process for healing and moving forward. However, at times it may not feel like the right or safest approach. It's important not to rush or force things.

If you find the right counsellor and proceed at your own pace, there should be no risk. Only you can truly assess whether a challenging period in counselling is part of your growth.
